Utangulizi
The Closer Pets MiBowl® Microchip Automatic Pet Feeder is designed to provide personalized access to food for your pets, ensuring that only designated pets can access their meals. This feeder is ideal for multi-pet households or for pets on special diets, preventing food theft and promoting healthy eating habits.
It operates by recognizing your pet's implanted microchip (ISO or 15-Digit AVID) or the included electronic ID tag, opening the lid only for authorized pets. The enclosed design helps to keep food fresh and prevents pests from accessing the food.

This video demonstrates the unboxing and initial setup of the MiBowl feeder, including inserting batteries and preparing the unit for use. It highlights the ease of getting the feeder ready right out of the box.
2. Installing the Food Bowl and Lid
Place the removable food bowl into the designated slot within the feeder. Ensure it sits securely. Then, place the clear lid over the food bowl. The lid is designed to keep food fresh and secure when the feeder is closed.
3. Attaching Portion Protectors (Optional)

Image: Feeder Opening with and without Portion Protectors
This image illustrates the two configurations for the feeder's opening. With the clear portion protector clips installed, the opening is reduced to 3.5 inches, ideal for smaller cats and kittens to prevent larger pets from accessing the food. Without the clips, the opening is 6 inches wide, suitable for larger cats or small dogs. The clips are easily removable and re-attachable.
For smaller pets or to further restrict access, attach the clear portion protector clips to the sides of the feeder opening. These clips reduce the opening width, ensuring only the intended small pet can comfortably access the food.

Image: How the MiBowl Feeder Works
This diagram visually explains the core functionality of the MiBowl feeder. It shows that only pets with a registered microchip or ID tag can trigger the lid to open, granting them access to the food. Unpaired pets, even if they approach the feeder, will find the lid remains closed, effectively preventing them from eating the food intended for others.
2. Training Mode
For pets new to the feeder, a training mode is available to help them acclimate to the automatic lid operation.
- Press and hold the 'Training' button (marked with a graduation cap symbol) until the lid opens and the red light flashes. The lid will remain open for an extended period.
- Allow your pet to eat comfortably from the open feeder.
- Once your pet is comfortable, press the 'Training' button again to exit training mode. The lid will resume normal operation, opening only when a registered pet approaches.

This image depicts a cat seemingly "graduating" from training, symbolizing the ease with which pets can learn to use the MiBowl feeder. The training mode allows the lid to stay open longer, helping pets become comfortable with the feeder before it operates automatically based on microchip detection.
3. Matumizi ya Kila Siku
Once programmed, the feeder will automatically open its lid when a registered pet approaches and closes when the pet moves away. This ensures fresh food and prevents other pets or pests from accessing it.
