Mwongozo wa Mtumiaji wa Mfumo wa Alarm wa KERUI DW9

Model: DW9 | Brand: KERUI

1. Utangulizi

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your KERUI DW9 Wireless Driveway Alarm System. This system is designed to enhance security by alerting you to movement in monitored outdoor areas such as driveways, perimeters, entrances, and pathways.

The system consists of a weatherproof Passive Infrared (PIR) motion detector (sensor) and an indoor chime receiver. It is suitable for various applications, including home security, shed monitoring, garage alerts, and commercial entry notifications.

3. Kuweka na Kuweka

3.1 Kuwezesha Mpokeaji

The receiver can be powered in two ways:

  1. Nguvu ya AC: Connect the supplied UK power adapter to the DC-5V port on the receiver and plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
  2. Battery Power (Backup): For portable use or as a backup during power outages, insert 3 x AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment. The receiver will retain pairing and alarm tone choices even if unplugged or power fails, provided batteries are installed.

3.3 Mounting the PIR Motion Sensor

For optimal performance and to minimize false alarms, follow these recommendations:

  • Urefu: Mount the sensor approximately 3-4 feet (0.9-1.2 meters) above the ground.
  • Mwelekeo: Point the sensor straight out towards the area you wish to monitor, such as your driveway or entrance.
  • Mahali: Use the provided mounting hardware to affix the sensor to a fence post, tree, wall, or stake.
  • Epuka Vikwazo: Ensure a clear line of sight between the sensor and the monitored area. Avoid aiming directly at busy roads or areas with frequent small animal activity to reduce unwanted alerts.

The sensor has a 90-degree viewing radius from its center. You can adjust its field of view using the two included window covers.

3.4 Initial Pairing and Programming

The included sensor and receiver are pre-programmed and ready to use out of the box. If you are adding additional sensors or need to re-program, follow these steps:

  • The system supports up to 8 sensors, with 2 sensors assignable to each of the 4 available zones.
  • Each zone can be assigned one of 16 available melodies, allowing you to distinguish the alert source.

4. Uendeshaji

4.1 Receiver Controls

  • Washa / ZIMA Zima: Located on the side of the receiver to power the unit on or off.
  • Udhibiti wa Sauti: Adjusts the alert volume through 5 levels, including a mute option. Maximum volume is 100 dB.
  • Tone Select: Cycles through 16 selectable alert sounds/melodies. Each melody has a specific duration.
  • Kiashiria cha Mwanga wa LED: Flashes when an alert is triggered, providing a visual notification.

4.2 PIR Motion Sensor Operation

  • Utambuzi wa Mwendo: The sensor detects heat movement within approximately 20 feet (6 meters) in front of it.
  • Usambazaji wa Mawimbi: Upon detection, the sensor sends a wireless signal up to 500 feet (150 meters) in open areas to the receiver.
  • Ucheleweshaji wa Utambuzi: After detecting motion, the sensor enters a "sleep" mode for 5 seconds. This prevents continuous alerts from a single object passing through and conserves battery life.
  • Sensor LED: The sensor's eye will light up red when activated. This LED can be turned off using the internal LED dip switch (refer to Image 3.2). Note that turning off the LED will disable the visual low battery indicator.

4.3 Adjusting Sensor Settings

  • Masafa ya Ugunduzi: Inside the sensor's battery compartment, a dip switch allows you to select a detection range of 6 meters or 12 meters. For maximum effective range, set it to "12M" and consider turning off the sensor LED.
  • Uwanja wa View: Use the two included window covers to narrow or adjust the sensor's field of view, focusing its detection area.

5. Matengenezo

5.1 Ubadilishaji wa Betri

  • Sensorer ya PIR: Replace 2 x AA batteries approximately once a year, depending on usage and environmental conditions.
  • Mpokeaji: If using battery backup, replace 3 x AA batteries as needed.
  • Viwango vya Baridi: Alkaline batteries may deplete quickly in cold weather. Consider using lithium batteries in the outdoor sensor for improved performance in low temperatures.

5.2 Kusafisha

Wipe the sensor and receiver units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6. Utatuzi wa shida

  • Kengele za Uongo za Mara kwa Mara:
    • Ensure the sensor is mounted 3-4 feet above the ground.
    • Adjust the aiming angle of the sensor to avoid detecting small animals or nearby traffic.
    • Use the window covers to narrow the sensor's field of view.
    • Adjust the detection range dip switch to 6M if 12M is too sensitive for your environment.
  • No Alert from Receiver:
    • Check if the receiver is powered on and connected to AC or has fresh batteries.
    • Ensure the sensor has fresh batteries and is powered on.
    • Verify that the sensor and receiver are within range (up to 500ft in open area). Large obstructions like thick walls can reduce range.
    • Confirm that the sensor and receiver are correctly paired. Refer to Section 3.4 for programming instructions.
    • Check the receiver's volume setting; ensure it is not muted.
  • Sensor LED Not Lighting Up:
    • Check the internal LED dip switch (refer to Image 3.2); it might be set to OFF.
    • If the LED is off, the low battery indicator will also be disabled.
