This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use and maintenance of your TooQ TQR-220B External Electronic ID Reader. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure optimal performance and to prevent damage.
The TooQ TQR-220B is designed for secure reading of electronic ID cards (DNIe) and other smart cards, facilitating online transactions, digital signatures, and access to public administration services.

The TQR-220B is a compact and plug-and-play smart card reader. It features a USB 2.0 interface with a USB-A connector for easy connection to your computer.

4. Uendeshaji
Using the TooQ TQR-220B to read your electronic ID or smart card is straightforward.
Inserting a Smart Card:
- Ensure the reader is connected to your computer and the red LED is on.
- Locate the smart card slot on the top of the TQR-220B.
- Insert your electronic ID card (e.g., DNIe) or smart card into the slot with the chip facing upwards and towards the reader, as shown in the image below. Push the card gently until it is fully seated.

Kusoma na Kuandika:
- Once the card is inserted, the green LED will flash or remain solid, indicating active communication (reading or writing) with the smart card.
- Use the appropriate software application (e.g., DNIe software, banking applications, digital signature tools) on your computer to interact with the smart card.
- Do not remove the card while the green LED is active, as this may interrupt data transfer or corrupt the card.
Removing a Smart Card:
Once your operation is complete and the green LED is no longer active, gently pull the smart card out of the slot.
5. Viashiria vya LED
The TooQ TQR-220B features two LED indicators to provide status information:
- LED Nyekundu:
- Imewashwa (Imara): Indicates that the device is powered on and ready.
- Kijani cha LED:
- On (Solid/Flashing): Indicates active communication (reading or writing) with an inserted smart card.
- Imezimwa: No smart card inserted or no active communication.
