1. Utangulizi
The Testo testo425 is a high-precision hot wire anemometer designed for accurate measurement of wind speed, temperature, and calculation of volume flow. It is particularly suitable for applications requiring measurement of low wind speeds, such as in ventilation ducts and air outlets. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your testo425 instrument.

2. Kuweka
2.1 Kufungua na Vipengele
Carefully unpack your testo425 anemometer. The package should contain the main instrument, the hot-wire probe, and a Chinese/English instruction manual.

2.2 Utambulisho wa Vipengele
- Uchunguzi: The hot-wire sensor for measurements.
- Onyesha: Shows measurement readings and menu options.
- Vifungo vya Kudhibiti: For operating the instrument and navigating menus.
- Back: Battery Compartment: Houses the 9V block battery.
- Back: Protective Cover: Hulinda sehemu ya betri.
2.3 Ufungaji wa Betri
The testo425 uses a 9V block battery or a rechargeable equivalent. To install or replace the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the instrument (item 4 in Figure 2).
- Remove the protective cover (item 5 in Figure 2).
- Insert the 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Badilisha kifuniko cha kinga.
2.4 Muunganisho wa Uchunguzi
Connect the hot-wire probe to the designated port on the instrument. Ensure a secure connection. The probe is extendable and can reach up to 820mm with a diameter of 7.5mm.
Important: The hot-wire probe is fragile. Handle with care to avoid damage.
3. Maagizo ya Uendeshaji
3.1 Power On/Off and Backlight
Bonyeza kwa On/Off / Backlight button to turn the instrument on or off. Press and hold this button to activate or deactivate the display backlight. The backlight allows for clear readings in various lighting conditions.
3.2 Vipimo vya Msingi
The testo425 can measure wind speed and temperature. The hot-wire probe is highly sensitive and provides quick response to changes in airflow. It can also be switched to display the current temperature reading.
To measure wind speed:
- Extend the probe to the desired length (up to 820mm).
- Position the probe in the airflow.
- Read the wind speed directly from the display.
3.3 Kazi za Kitufe
| Kitufe | Kazi |
|---|---|
| Hold / Max / Min | Holds the current reading, displays maximum (Max) and minimum (Min) measured values. |
| On/Off / Backlight | Turns the instrument on/off. Press and hold to turn the backlight on/off. Confirms input in configuration mode. |
| Vol | Activates volume flow measurement mode. |
| Mshale wa Juu (▲) | In configuration mode: increases values or selects options. |
| Mshale wa Chini (▼) | In configuration mode: decreases values or selects options. |
| Maana | Calculates multi-point and time-period average values. |
3.4 Volume Flow Measurement
To calculate volume flow, press the Vol button. The instrument will use the measured wind speed and a user-defined duct area (if applicable) to calculate the volume flow rate.
3.5 Average Value Calculation
For stable and representative readings, especially in fluctuating airflows, use the Maana function to calculate multi-point or time-period averages.
4. Matengenezo
4.1 Probe Care
The hot-wire probe is a delicate component. Always handle it with extreme care. Avoid touching the hot-wire sensor directly. When not in use, retract the probe fully into its protective casing.
4.2 Kusafisha
Clean the instrument and probe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no moisture enters the instrument casing.
4.3 Ubadilishaji wa Betri
Replace the 9V block battery when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Refer to section 2.3 for battery installation instructions. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
5. Utatuzi wa shida
If you encounter issues with your testo425, consider the following common solutions:
- No display/Instrument not turning on: Check battery charge and ensure it is correctly installed. Replace with a fresh battery if necessary.
- Usomaji usio sahihi: Ensure the probe is clean and undamaged. Verify that the probe is correctly positioned in the airflow.
- Probe not extending/retracting smoothly: Check for any obstructions or damage to the extendable mechanism. Do not force the probe.
- Backlight haifanyi kazi: Ensure the instrument is on and press and hold the On/Off / Backlight button to toggle the backlight.
