  • Always wear appropriate safety gear, such as gloves, during assembly to protect against sharp edges.

  • Do not allow children or pets to play inside or around the garden bed during assembly or when it is filled, as it may become unstable or cause injury.
  • Once filled with soil, the garden bed will be very heavy and difficult to move. Choose your desired location carefully before filling.

The Sunnydaze Galvanized Raised Metal Garden Bed is designed for quick and straightforward assembly. A screwdriver is the only tool required.

  1. Fungua Vipengee: Carefully remove all panels and hardware from the packaging. Lay them out on a clean, flat surface to ensure all parts are accounted for.
  2. Unganisha Paneli: Align the pre-drilled holes of the side panels with the corner panels. Insert bolts through the holes and secure them with wingnuts. Do not overtighten initially; leave them slightly loose to allow for adjustments.
  3. Form Rectangle: Continue connecting all panels to form the rectangular shape of the garden bed. Ensure all corners are properly aligned.
  4. Kaza maunzi: Once all panels are connected and the shape is correct, systematically tighten all bolts and wingnuts using a screwdriver until secure. Ensure the structure is firm and stable.
  5. Position Garden Bed: Carefully move the assembled garden bed to its final desired location. Consider sunlight exposure, water access, and level ground.

Once assembled and positioned, your raised garden bed is ready for planting.

  1. Chagua Mahali: Select a site that receives adequate sunlight for the plants you intend to grow. Ensure the ground is relatively level to prevent uneven settling.
  2. Jaza kwa Udongo: Begin filling the garden bed with a high-quality soil mix suitable for your plants. The bed has a capacity of approximately 7.8 cubic feet or 59 gallons.
  3. Kupanda: Once filled, you can begin planting your desired vegetables, herbs, or flowers. The raised design offers several benefits:
    • Improved Drainage: Prevents waterlogging and root rot.
    • Better Aeration: Promotes healthier root systems.
    • Warmer Soil: Encourages faster germination and growth.
    • Ulinzi wa Wadudu: Provides a barrier against some ground-level pests.
  4. Kumwagilia: Water your plants regularly according to their specific needs. The bottomless design allows plants to root deeply into the ground below, accessing additional moisture and nutrients.

The galvanized steel construction of your garden bed is designed for durability and weather resistance. Minimal maintenance is required.

Inspect the bed annually for any signs of wear.   • Uadilifu wa Muundo: Occasionally check that all bolts and wingnuts remain tight. Retighten if necessary to maintain stability.

  • Garden Bed Appears Unstable:

    Ensure all bolts and wingnuts are fully tightened. Check that the garden bed is placed on a level surface. If the ground is uneven, consider leveling the area before placing the bed.

  • Difficulty Assembling Panels:

    Ensure panels are correctly oriented and aligned. Do not fully tighten bolts until all panels are loosely connected, allowing for minor adjustments.

  • Waterlogging in Soil:

    While the bottomless design promotes drainage, ensure the underlying soil is not compacted. Consider adding a layer of gravel or coarse material at the bottom of the bed before adding topsoil if drainage is a persistent issue in your area.
