The East Broad Top Railroad and Coal Company, a historic narrow-gauge line, is celebrated with this meticulously crafted set. It features a 2-6-0 Steam Era Locomotive with an operating headlight, a coal tender, a tank car, a two-bay steel hopper car, and a caboose. The set includes a 56" x 38" oval of nickel silver E-Z Track, a power pack, and a speed controller, providing everything needed to begin your railroading adventure.

4. Kuweka
Follow these steps to assemble your train set and prepare for operation.

4.3 Placing the Train on Track
Carefully place the locomotive and cars on the track.
- Ensure the speed controller is set to the 'OFF' or 'STOP' position.
- Place the locomotive on the track, ensuring all wheels are properly seated on the rails.
- Connect the coal tender to the locomotive using the provided coupler.
- Connect the freight cars (tank car, hopper, caboose) in desired order, ensuring couplers engage properly.

5. Maagizo ya Uendeshaji
Once the train set is assembled and connected, you can begin operation.
- Washa: Turn the speed controller knob clockwise from the 'OFF' position. The locomotive's headlight should illuminate.
- Kasi ya Kudhibiti: Continue turning the knob clockwise to increase the train's speed. Turn counter-clockwise to decrease speed.
- Badilisha Mwelekeo: To change the direction of the train, first bring the train to a complete stop by turning the speed controller knob to the 'OFF' position. Then, quickly turn the knob to the 'ON' position and back to 'OFF' once or twice. This will reverse the direction. Finally, turn the knob clockwise again to resume operation in the new direction.
- Acha: Turn the speed controller knob fully counter-clockwise to the 'OFF' position to stop the train.

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your train set.
6.1 Cleaning the Track
Dust and dirt can accumulate on the track, affecting electrical conductivity and train performance.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a track cleaning pad (available separately) to wipe down the top surface of the rails.
- For stubborn grime, a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on a cloth can be used, but ensure the track is completely dry before operating the train.

6.2 Locomotive and Car Maintenance
- Magurudumu: Periodically inspect locomotive and car wheels for dirt, lint, or hair. Use a small brush or cotton swab to clean them.
- Upakaji mafuta: The locomotive's moving parts are pre-lubricated. Avoid over-lubrication. If necessary, use only specialized model train lubricant sparingly on gears and axles as directed by Bachmann's official guidelines (not included in this manual).
