Follow these steps for proper application of the Coloplast Skin Barrier Ring:

  1. Weka Pete: Carefully place the barrier ring around the base of the stoma, ensuring it fits snugly without touching the stoma itself. The ring should fill any uneven skin surfaces.
  2. Mold and Secure: Gently press the barrier ring onto the skin, molding it with your fingers to create a smooth, secure seal. Ensure there are no gaps between the ring and the skin. The flexibility of the ring allows it to conform to body contours.
  3. Apply Pouching System: Once the barrier ring is securely in place, apply your ostomy pouching system directly over the barrier ring, following the instructions provided with your pouching system. The barrier ring enhances the seal of the pouch.

4. Removal and Skin Care

When changing your pouching system, the barrier ring should be removed along with the skin barrier or wafer.
